Colossians 3:23-24
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."

I'm Kim, of Kim's Vintage Designs. I am thrilled that you stumbled upon my DIY blog! This blog was created to be a photo diary of my many DIY projects. I'm not a professional, I have just learned these techniques over many years of trial and error. I have no formal training. It is my hope that this blog will be an encouragement to other ladies out there who want to get there hands dirty, but may not really know where to start.

About me:
My "hands on" creative side wasn't discovered until I was married and we bought our first home in 1998. We purchased a 1940's bungalow in dire need of some updating. What began as decorating, turned to repairing and repairing led to full on reconstruction. I found that I had a love for sawing, hammering, painting, tiling and landscaping.

My jewelry making hobby started when my Grandmother passed away in 2004 and I inherited her vintage costume jewelry collection. This inheritance turned into a love of all vintage jewelry. I began collecting, collecting led to repairing and repairing led to designing my own jewelry. For years, I sold my jewelry pieces in shops and Art Shows.

My love for all things vintage increased and I began collecting vintage furniture. Having a love for hands on projects, I began to refinish the vintage pieces. Many of the pieces refinished were major eye sores and would not be worth much to a collector. What pleasure I had when an ugly, broken piece of furniture was turned into something usable again and with character!

I enjoy getting my hands dirty, creating original pieces and passing them on to be enjoyed by others!

All of these projects have led me to create this blog. I hope that these projects will be a blessing to those reading!

I give the Lord Jesus Christ all the glory. He is my strength and my salvation.
Learn how Christ changed my life and how He can change your life!
